Praying for our Leader's newspaper

From the June 1985 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Mrs. Eddy's statement about The Christian Science Monitor: "My desire is that every Christian Scientist, and as many others as possible, subscribe for and read our daily newspaper,"  The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, pp. 352-353. indicates what our Leader envisioned as its readership. A large number of the Monitor's readers were expected to be Christianly scientific metaphysicians, who through consistent reading of the Monitor would be well-informed healers and would prayerfully support this worldwide newspaper as it encircled the globe in its missionary activity.

These words of our beloved Leader, from one of her poems, bring great inspiration when we pray for the Monitor:

My prayer, some daily good to do
To Thine, for Thee;
An offering pure of Love, whereto
God leadeth me. Poems, p. 13 .
