I am truly abounding with thanksgiving to God for Christian Science. It is provable, practical, and it heals!
My husband and I were in an automobile collision. Although he was not seriously injured, there was extensive injury to my mouth and head (including a concussion), a broken arm, and a broken finger. After regaining consciousness in an ambulance that was taking me to a hospital, I immediately began silently affirming statements of spiritual truth. I knew that all that was really going on was God and His perfection, and that nothing had happened to or touched me as His idea, man. I recalled statements from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy as well, including lines 5 to 11 on page 424, which begin: "Accidents are unknown to God, or immortal Mind. . . ."
I declined all medical assistance, but before I was fully awake or my husband was aware of what was going on, an X-ray of my arm had been taken. (It had already been put in a metal traylike splint for support.) As I continued silently acknowledging the truth of my being, complete consciousness returned. From that point on neither my husband nor I allowed anything further to be done for me medically at the hospital. We soon returned to our home. From then on I had Christian Science practitioner help.
