They crucified him . . .
he . . . who had come to
lead, to teach, to save:
to prove that life
does not end in a grave.
All that he had, he gave . . .
forgiveness, compassion, love . . .
without measure:
from an infinite source
he poured forth this treasure.
But they crucified him,
. . . and he let them . . .
for us.
For our sake he let them take
his body . . .
judge and condemn,
vent their ignorance and spleen.
Yet . . . his only mission was to redeem
human thought from its burial ground.
And then . . .
on the resurrection morn,
no body was found
within the tomb,
for no walls (matter's solid conviction),
no room,
could . . . or can . . . hold the living Christ
whose constant presence
and power
continue today to resurrect the world.
Hear his words,
"I am the resurrection, and the life:
he that believeth in me, though he were dead,
yet shall he live."John 11:25
This is the truth he came to give,
to all,
for all eternity:
the unburied Christ . . . .
