Divine Science: the more excellent way

From the January 1988 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I was a young wife and mother, a Christian Scientist, and I had no trust in material remedies— or so I thought. My child's kindergarten teacher escorted her to my car to point out a place on her face that the teacher thought was evidence of chicken pox.

As I drove home I prayed to perceive the spiritual truth of the child's being as clear and present evidence that she was in truth the reflection of the perfect God—as incapable of having chicken pox as God Himself is! Listening for the word of God, I was able to understand that divine Mind is the only consciousness of man and that in reality there is not even a claim or belief of disease, since God does not create disease.

Feeling easier about the situation, I suddenly remembered that this daughter had already had what we thought was chicken pox! It had been healed so quickly through Christian Science treatment that I had for the moment forgotten.
