Psalm 150 exhorts us to praise God for His "mighty acts" and for His "excellent greatness" (see verse 2). In obedience to this I would like to express my gratitude and praise to God.
In 1961, while I was serving as First Reader in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, I fainted during the testimony portion of the Wednesday testimony meeting. It was winter, and the heat from two wall furnaces had made the platform very warm.
The following Sunday, while I was reading from the desk, the feeling that I would faint came over me again and frightened me. I quickly opened the door to the platform to get some circulation of air. Although I was very shaken, I finished the reading without incident. For a long time I was challenged by a sense of weakness and dizziness as well as a fear of fainting during the church services. This challenge, however, only made me more humble and grateful for God's support during the ensuing months as I prayed to master the difficulty.
