From the October 1988 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Have you ever looked at something, but not really seen it, until you looked a second time from a new perspective? We've all had this experience at one time or another. Recently a church member wrote about his own experience in viewing a new lecture video produced by The Christian Science Board of Lectureship.

In response to a request of the [branch church] lecture committee, here are some observations concerning the video lecture shown at our recent lecture meeting.

The first time I viewed the tape, I frankly didn't "get it." I didn't see what it was driving at; I didn't see the "public topics condemning Christian Science" that it was giving a reply to [see Mrs. Eddy, Manual of The Mother Church, Art. XXXI, Sect. 2], I didn't see much depth of message. (Color my face red.)
