Would a pilot climb into an airplane and take off without first checking his instruments and consulting with the control tower? Of course not!
Then, if we hope to soar above the currents of mortal thought through prayer and through daily study of the Bible Lesson, which is found in the Christian Science Quarterly, we can be good pilots. We can aid our flight by taking some preliminary measures.
Do I know just what I'm seeking when I study
the Lesson-Sermon? Am I doing it merely out of
a sense of duty, or am I eagerly and expectantly
uplifting thought to glorify God?
