One former captive, St. Paul, wrote, "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, ... nor principalities, nor power, ... Shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Rom. 8:38, 39). And as the following excerpt from a magazine article shows, prayer is not simply a comforting solace. For these former captives, prayer became something far more tangible.
