Church Bulletin Board

From the June 1990 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Whether at a shopping mall, on a college campus, or in the foyer of a church, a bulletin board is a great place for people to share information. You can learn a lot about an active community from reading local bulletin boards. We hope you'll enjoy this bulletin board and feel encouraged to join in and share experiences.

Anyone who has served as a Reader in a branch church knows that there's a lot of soul-searching that goes into the work. A recent Reader in one branch church was asked to write a report of his work when he was about halfway through his term of office. His comments were shared with "Church Bulletin Board."

When I was asked to write this report, I had numerous reservations. Frankly, I didn't feel qualified to comment on the position. It is a learning process that is evolving for me. On that basis I can only reflect on my progress up to this point—slightly more than a year and a half into the term.
