For more than sixteen years I have been active in our local Christian Science Society. I thank the Father for His care during these years in which I have surmounted physical and moral difficulties.
Late one evening in June 1984, as I entered the highway, my car was struck and thrown some thirty meters by another car traveling quite fast. My vehicle was damaged beyond repair. With my head between my hands, and feeling no strength to move, I silently prayed to the Father, affirming His presence.
People came running. Since I was motionless, they thought I was dead. I lifted my head and assured them that I was alive. However, because I could barely stay on my feet, they loaded me, with the others, into a Red Cross vehicle. They took us to the first-aid room of a hospital. (The men who had run into me had sustained fractures.)
