When I was a Sunday School teacher, my students and I would memorize the Golden Text from each week's Bible Lesson outlined in the Christian Science Quarterly. Then we would all see how we could use the spiritual truth contained in this Bible verse in our daily experiences at home, at school, and so on.
One day, when I asked what the Golden Text was, a student said, "Put on the armor of God." Without a moment's hesitation, another student said, "No, it's 'put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.' "
Many times over the years, this thought has come to me: No, put on the whole armor of God. This has helped me realize that if we think we have only part of our armor on, this means that we are not seeing man's true identity as the complete, spiritual expression of God's perfection. When we put on the whole armor of God, we identify ourselves correctly and can find healing through this spiritual understanding.
