Let me be thorough in my work
Like Joshua and his people—
Not slipshod, halfway
But seven times around the wall
Till I see the evil fall.
Let me be thorough also in forgiveness—
Not halfhearted
Holding something back.
Not merely seven times.
I must do better
For the Master said
"Seventy times seven."
Let my love be of the heart
Not just the head
Then I'll find the kingdom of God's heaven.
