A healing that occurred when I was a small child has been a great source of inspiration to me. I became very ill with influenza. My father called a doctor, who made every effort to help me. However, I grew steadily worse. Finally I had several hemorrhages from the lungs. The doctor said I could live only a few hours and gave up the case. At this point my mother, who had been attending services at a Church of Christ, Scientist, called a Christian Science practitioner. Soon I was fully healed.
One day mother and I went to talk with this practitioner. Her house overlooked a lovely lagoon, with willow trees bending over the water. I well remember how the practitioner pointed out the reflection of the willows in the water as an example that I was God's reflection.
A more recent healing gave further wonderful proof of the healing power of Christian Science. For some time I had noticed a small lump on my chest. Realizing that this was not a normal condition, I prayed about it, but there was no change.
