Why do I write for the periodicals?

From the November 1994 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Because I love what the periodicals stand for. I value them as an integral part of Mary Baker Eddy's demonstration of Church. And I honestly want to support them, to do what I can to help them fulfill their healing purpose.

In describing the periodicals she founded, Mrs. Eddy talks of their purpose in this way: "The first was The Christian Science Journal, designed to put on record the divine Science of Truth; the second I entitled Sentinel, intended to hold guard over Truth, Life, and Love; the third, Der Herold der Christian Science, to proclaim the universal activity and availability of Truth; the next I named Monitor, to spread undivided the Science that operates unspent." The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 353

Writing at a time when only her Journal had been established, Mrs. Eddy said of Christian Scientists, "They should take our magazine, work for it, write for it, and read it." Miscellaneous Writings, p. 271 Many Christian Scientists today do take the Journal (and the other periodicals as well) and prayerfully work for it, and read it. But what happens to "write for it"?
