Reading about Paul, what he endured and what he accomplished, one stands in awe that through all his distresses, setbacks, and tribulations, he stayed faithful to the vision of the Christ he had beheld on the road to Damascus.
Throughout the world there are people wonderfully faithful to the vision of the Christ that has come to them at some period—perhaps in a crisis in their lives. Unobtrusive, dedicated, they carry out the work of Christ-healing without fuss or fanfare, always at their post. These are indeed what Christ Jesus called his followers: "the salt of the earth." Matt. 5:13
In everyday life it may be easy for zest for serving God to fade. The world appears to offer so much of more immediate interest—perhaps promising even glamour and excitement—than does a humble seeking for spiritual growth through faithful devotion to Truth. But as we see that divine Mind, governing all, expresses itself in beauty, love, holiness, intelligence, we are more ready to find our joy in Him. Man exists to reflect God, and nothing can interrupt or break the unity of God and man, His idea.
