I'm very appreciative of the good that has come to me and to my family because of the desire and effort to practice the Science of Christ.
A Christian Scientist for many years, I once thought everyone perceived things as I did: that man (you and I) is not cursed; that man is not evil; that man is spiritual. Authority for this view is found in the first chapter of Genesis, the spiritual explanation of man's identity. This is not to be confused with the second chapter, the allegory which teaches that in the false, mortal view of creation, life isn't so great. Later in the Bible comes the record of Jesus and his teachings; his example further validates, or confirms, the teaching in the first chapter of Genesis.
Some time ago, my shoulder was very sore for some months. I could not lift it very high because of the pain. I prayed for myself and also had the prayers of a Christian Science practitioner (thank goodness for them!). Healing came when I strove to put thoughts and acts of freshness, joy, and flexibility more into practice, in order to displace inflexibility, rigidity, and criticism I found I had been expressing.
