Sunday School: solid base for a lifetime

From the October 1995 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Recently we received the transcript of a discussion that took place between a Christian Science Sunday School teacher, and a former Sunday School student, The teacher told us that his former pupil has been out of Sunday School for a number of years—yet she still expresses her appreciation for the blessings she received. Excerpts of the conversation between them follow.

What attracted you to continue to attend the Sunday School as you were growing up?

I'd been attending the Christian Science Sunday School since I was a young girl. I loved the truths I was learning—really because they answered very pertinent questions like "Who am I?" and "What does God have to do with my life?" This quotation from Jeremiah seems particularly appropriate when recalling my Sunday School years: "And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith the Lord...." Jer. 29:13, 14
