Taking a radical stand for Truth

From the October 1995 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Healing takes place when we take a radical stand for Truth—and each of us is able to do so.

In Science and Health Mary Baker Eddy states: "It is not wise to take a halting and half-way position or to expect to work equally with Spirit and matter, Truth and error. There is but one way—namely God and His idea—which leads to spiritual being. The scientific government of the body must be attained through the divine Mind. It is impossible to gain control over the body in any other way.... Only through radical reliance on Truth can scientific healing power be realized." Science and Health, p. 167

When I first became a student of Christian Science, I was faced with a problem which demanded that I learn what taking a radical stand means. On two previous occasions I had relied on medical operations and procedures to remove tumors. Now another protrusion had appeared, but this time, as a new student of Christian Science, I decided to rely exclusively on this Science for healing.
