I am so grateful for the practicality of Christian Science!
I was down on my knees in the bathroom, using a strong cleaning product. The bottle stopped spraying properly. I turned it to look at the opening, and inadvertently caused a full blast of chemical to come directly into both eyes. At this I loudly declared "the scientific statement of being" (see Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 468), as there was great pain. I prayed to know the absolute allness of God, and the consequent nothingness of matter. I claimed that I was God's perfect, spiritual idea, and could feel His presence holding me perfect and unharmed.
The pain subsided. My eyes had been tightly shut, and I realized that if I stood up, I would be directly facing a mirror. This brought to my thought some statements Mrs. Eddy wrote in Science and Health about reflection."Few persons comprehend what Christian Science means by the word reflection. To himself, mortal and material man seems to be substance, but his sense of substance involves error and therefore is material, temporal.
