Reaching hearts hungering for Truth

From the March 1996 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Miles M. Harbur is the Chief Operating Officer of The Christian Science Publishing Society.

As this issue of the Journal brings out, the mission of the Church of Christ, Scientist, includes reaching "honest seekers for Truth." See Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health, p. xii. Honest seekers are embraced in the mission because scientific Christianity—the exploration and application of the laws of God—is based upon the teachings and works of Christ Jesus, whose legacy as the Way-shower is for all humanity.

In support of this legacy, the Christian Science Church provides numerous publications and communication activities to reach mankind. These include Sunday church services and Wednesday testimony meetings, Sunday School, a daily newspaper—The Christian Science Monitor—weekly, monthly, and quarterly magazines, some in as many as seventeen languages, news and religious radio programs, books, pamphlets, Reading Rooms that sell the publications, public lectures, press and legislative communications.
