Christian Science literature kiosk at Islip/MacArthur Airport

From the April 1996 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Meetings concerning public awareness of Mary Baker Eddy's book Science and Health provided the impetus for our branch church to initiate a literature distribution project at Islip/MacArthur Airport, a busy area serving central and eastern Long Island, New York. The project is being supported by most of the branch churches in the vicinity.

At the installation of our kiosk, in which Christian Science literature is displayed, it became obvious to us that the ownership (figuratively speaking) of the display was passing from our hands to the community. Within a few minutes, travelers were walking up to the kiosk and taking literature. The kiosk now has to be restocked two or three times each week. Also, through this project a contact has been established with the advertising agency that handles all advertising at over 120 airports in the United States. This contact should make it easier for similar displays of Christian Science literature to be placed in other airports.
