The fragrance that spreads and heals

From the April 1996 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The world's great need of healing reflects a mental need. Strife, calamities, and seemingly insoluble problems express the fermenting of human thought as it's forced to yield to the unseen leavening action of the Christ, the divine idea of God.

In harmony with the Bible's teachings, Christian Science reveals that God is good, infinite Spirit, Life, and Love; and that man is God's perfect reflection, the infinite image of God's infinite being. The Master, Christ Jesus, understood the nature of God and man. Through his ability to conquer evil in all its forms, he showed that good is the only reality of existence, and that evil is a mistaken, human concept that seems solid, but that disappears when confronted by the spiritual understanding of God's allness and man's perfection.

The way of salvation taught by the Master is both individual and collective. By following Christ, Truth, not only do we overcome evil in ourselves, winning our own redemption and healing; we also contribute to the spiritual progress and safety of humanity as a whole.
