Be faithful to your real self

From the May 1996 issue of The Christian Science Journal

One of the best ways to improve your life is to make a commitment to knowing yourself as God knows you. This starts most naturally with becoming more familiar with God. As you understand more and more about God's nature, you'll understand more about what God actually does and how God creates. You, the real you, are the creation, the outcome, of God.

God is Spirit, and therefore He creates without matter; instead, His creation consists of spiritual ideas. God is divine Mind, and Mind's outcome, or idea, is the real you. You are Mind's own likeness, expressed by Mind as an undefiled spiritual conception—not some blend of atomic particles and electricity.

There is much to knowing your spiritual identity as the idea of God, infinite good. It is important, for example, to understand that there is nothing in God's creation contrary to Him, nothing of an evil nature commingling or intertwined either with God's perfect goodness or with what God creates. Divine Mind is pure. That means your real self is spiritually pure.
