It never happened!

From the May 1996 issue of The Christian Science Journal

My husband and I were staying in a condominium while on vacation. One evening we returned from dinner to find a firetruck parked at the side of our unit. In an upstairs back window we could see the figure of a man. My husband and I both saw the same scene, and we both came to the same conclusion: our condo was on fire, and a firefighter was inside!

But then we saw the man in the window pull a shirt over his head—something a firefighter wouldn't have been doing. A clearer look revealed that it wasn't our window after all!

Still, there was a firetruck parked at our unit. There was no doubt about that. We jumped out of the car and rushed toward the truck. Just as we got near, the firefighters on the truck nodded to us as if to say, "Hello. Nice evening." And after a couple of times of backing up and inching forward, the firetruck came on around the edge of the building and left.
