The Science of Christ has...

From the April 1997 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The Science of Christ has opened my thought to God's presence in my life, and this was demonstrated in a recent experience. During my fifth month of pregnancy, my husband and I were informed we were expecting not one but two babies. I was more joyful than words can express for this double blessing and grateful to see clearly how God's goodness multiplies abundantly. I also felt concern in my thought, however, over some of the world's perceptions about multiples. Namely, that twins are usually born much smaller, that chances of having a natural birth were slim, and that I now was categorized as a high risk case.

I called a Christian Science practitioner for prayerful treatment to help me in negating these claims. Together we mentally stood firm, knowing that God governs all, and that this double blessing was unfolding according to His law. My fears and concerns dissolved that day.

I was grateful to rely on God's power to overcome every obstacle, and I was able to enjoy those precious months before delivery. My husband and I understood that these babies are children of God. They were newly appearing to us not by birth, but by the unfoldment of God's creation. These were God's ideas being expressed, and He gave them to us to take care of and nurture.
