Christian Science Heals at all stages of human experience. I was reared in a home where Christian Science was practiced, and I have relied on it throughout my lifetime.
In about eighth grade I had a problem called pinkeye, and my parents made an appointment with a Christian Science practitioner for treatment. I recall going to his home and sitting in his small office. He prayed and I was soon healed.
In high school, while I was playing soccer, I attempted to head a ball at the same time the opposing fullback kicked at it. His foot, the ball, and my left eye met simultaneously. I was helped from the field as my eye swelled and completely closed. I began thinking truths about myself, and had great support from my teammates and coach. The pain and swelling subsided quickly. Within about five minutes I was able to return to the game. The fullback apologized and indicated that I'd probably only have a black eye. I immediately countered that suggestion in prayer, and there was never any more pain or any discoloration.
