Because Moses found grace in the sight of God, as the Bible indicates, he received the Ten Commandments, revealing the nucleus of individual and societal redemption. By helping individuals restrain evil impulses and wrongdoing, the Commandments free people for happier, more useful lives.
The young Jesus was raised in the framework of the Mosaic law. Also, as the Bible says of him, "The child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him." Luke 2:40 Later, in his redeeming ministry, which neither tolerated evil nor condemned humanity, Jesus showed for all time the power of divine grace to destroy evil.
The Beatitudes, which he gave, illustrate the breadth of grace — the poor in spirit receive it, the mourners are comforted by it, the meek inherit it, the hungry are filled with it, the merciful express it, the pure see it, the peacemakers are its offspring, and the persecuted are made glad by it. The Bible states, "Of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ." John 1:16, 17
