I was most impressed with The Christian Science Journal's coverage of the "Pioneers of the Spiritual Millennium" conference in Boston. The August, September, and October issues were ideal for sharing with our community. They will uplift thought about the millennium and about young people today.
My two grandchildren were part of a large contingent of "pioneers" from the state of Oregon. They told me they were both deeply grateful to have been there, and especially enjoyed the Wednesday evening testimony meeting, at which students from many countries shared their experiences. They appreciated the thoughtful planning of each day's activities and the informal occasions when they got to discuss with their peers how they practice Christian Science on a personal level. They loved being with so many students their age who came from such widely different backgrounds yet were all striving to understand Christian Science better and to apply it in healing an extraordinary range of challenges.
My grandson said that he saw how important it is to share Mary Baker Eddy's book Science and Health with others, and he now realizes that to do this one needs to read it and use it daily oneself. That is a commitment he is readily undertaking, and he is convinced that it will strengthen his role as a spiritual pioneer.
