Testimonies of Healing

Effects of collision overcome

From the July 1999 issue of The Christian Science Journal

A friend and I were in a serious car crash. My next recollection was that of intense chest pain and irregular beating of the heart. Breathing was difficult, and I sensed misalignment in the breastbone. I was not then able to move, but my friend, though also in discomfort, was able to get out of the car and come to me. With his cellular telephone we were able to call a Christian Science practitioner for treatment.

Just one week
after the incident,
I was completely
free.

While all of this was taking place, one thought was constant in my consciousness: "Look away from the body into Truth and Love ..." (Science and Health, p. 261. I knew that I must do this without any hesitation or wavering whatsoever. Science and Health points out, "It is not wise to take a halting and half-way position or to expect to work equally with Spirit and matter, Truth and error" (p. 167). I did not have the luxury of a single extra moment to dwell on the accident. I had praying to do.
