When the grandchildren need some help

From the January 2001 issue of The Christian Science Journal

To the Editors:

I am the "mom" referred to in Melissa Hayden's article. I am witness to the healings of which Melissa writes.

I also experienced at least two memorable physical healings of my own as a direct result of persisting with this project (it did take persistence) of reading Science and Health monthly. One was the instantaneous healing of a badly wounded finger. The other was of a burn. This [healing] enabled me to continue with my work as a Christian Science nurse. But these healings were by-products of the real purpose of my effort—spiritually supporting my grandchildren. These young people, in all cases, were blessed over this period by clear guidance as well as more harmonious living conditions and/or employment. An example: one grandson found a job reinforcing his university major. Also, he received such an outpouring of grants and scholarship that his parents were freed from the need to finance his university education.
