A Healing I had several years ago has been very important to me. It was winter, and I had been suffering from an earache for about ten days. The pain wasn't strong, but it was constant. The worst thing was that I couldn't hear anything out of that ear. I had been praying to solve this problem, but I wasn't getting any better.
Our Father-Mother God leads us to do the right thing.
One morning, as usual, I got on the bus to go to college classes, and prayed during the ride. I realized that I had always been afraid of the wind; I had accepted the notion that wind and drafts are bad for one's health. I then remembered something Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health: "Nature voices natural, spiritual law and divine Love, but human belief misinterprets nature. Arctic regions, sunny tropics, giant hills, winged winds, mighty billows, verdant vales, festive flowers, and glorious heavens,—all point to Mind, the spiritual intelligence they reflect." Further on in the passage, she continues, "In the order of Science, in which the Principle is above what it reflects, all is one grand concord" (p. 240). I suddenly understood that even the wind was an idea in God's creation, where nothing existed that could harm me because I am one of His beloved children. As I got off the bus, I realized the pain was gone, and I could hear perfectly out of both ears.
