Poems

Godward

From the November 2001 issue of The Christian Science Journal

No matter where I am
I can hear the word of God: I AM.
Wherever I may be
His word comes gently to awaken me,
To dispel mists, mental haze,
Enlighten my passage through the mortal maze.
I pause with His promise in the gloom,
Banish fear and doubt from my self-made tomb,
Then peck open my shell with a sudden surge
Till singing and soaring I emerge
To bask in the radiance of His healing light.
No more darkness. No more night.
