Say 'No!' to fear

He stopped being afraid of dogs.

From the November 2001 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I'd Always Loved Dogs—until the day I was attacked by one. I was riding my skateboard after kindergarten when a dog chased me down and attacked me. For quite some time after that, I got pretty scared whenever I saw a dog, especially a German shepherd.

Then, about a year later, I walked into my friend's backyard and looked right into the eyes of his big German shepherd. I was terrified! Yet I'd chosen to do this—I wanted to confront and overcome my fear. By the end of the afternoon, I'd made huge progress. I was patting the dog and playing with it, although I was still just a bit wary.

We need more than just personal authority. We need God's help.
