IN ONE OF MY BIBLES, the words of Jesus are written in red ink. I like to use this version because I believe everything he said was significant, and I want his words to stand out. Sometimes I take one of these passages and live with it awhile, trying to understand its deepest meaning.
Recently I was surprised to see that the book of Revelation also has passages in red. This came to my attention when I heard a woman ask, "How do we 'open the door' the way Jesus said to do? What do you think that means, exactly, to open the door?"
I was intrigued by this question myself. So I searched for that reference and found this passage in Revelation: "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne." Rev. 3:20, 21.
