WHEN I RECEIVED a phone call from my sister that my dad had just passed on suddenly, I was in shock, to say the least. I felt confused. I didn't know what to do, but I did ask a Christian Science practitioner to pray for me.
My employer and co-workers were very supportive and did all they could to see that I had transportation and money to get home to be with my family a few states away. When I went to my room to pack, however, it was as if suddenly everything was in slow motion. I sat down in a chair and the tears started to come.
I listened for God's guidance. As a student of Christian Science, I had learned that in reality there is no death. Life is continuous. No one can ever be separated from God. I knew that God was present and that His help was right where I was.
