The spiritual laws of God's creation became clear to my wife and me when she was pregnant with our daughter. The experience gave us the opportunity to acknowledge God's spiritual Father-Motherhood as a creative power that was of immediate help to us.
One day we found ourselves confronted with the following situation. The physician my wife had gone to during the first months of pregnancy had told her that the baby was inverted in the womb. He didn't hold out much hope for an easy birth.
My wife and I had learned to turn to God in prayer with all our problems, so that's what we did on this occasion as well. We also asked an experienced Christian Scientist to pray with us. I came across these lines in Science and Health: "The great truth in the Science of being, that the real man was, is, and ever shall be perfect, is incontrovertible; for if man isthe image, reflection, of God, he is neither inverted nor subverted, but upright and Godlike" (p. 200).
