You and Sunday morning

From the June 2001 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Missed Sunday School lately? It can be pretty tempting to stay home or go somewhere else on Sunday morning — free time seems hard to come by. So why does this hour on Sunday morning matter?

Well, it's a time you can get help in feeling more of God's love for you, right in the middle of all the things you are involved in. And you can learn how your understanding of divine Love changes what doesn't seem good about your life.

Actually, the good in your life — things like athletic ability, a sense of humor, solid relationships with friends or family — are indications of what you've already grasped about God, divine Love. Why? Because God is Himself good — the source of it and the permanence behind it. So the good in your life is really evidence that you have a natural, deep-down "familiarity" with Him. The more you know about God's goodness, the more you see it in your life.
