Testimonies of Healing

Weeping eczema cured

From the March 2002 issue of The Christian Science Journal

WHEN I WAS BORN, I was diagnosed with a skin condition called weeping eczema. Doctors told my parents that it could not be cured and that I would live with it all of my life. The condition was so severe that any bit of scratching would result in bleeding, so my hands were gently tied with ribbons to the side of my crib so that I would not scratch myself. My mother, who was caring for me constantly, developed a nervous condition and appeared near collapse.

My mother's best friend ... had given her a used copy of Science and Health previously and said she should read it, but my mother had put the book away in a drawer of a dresser without reading it. After I was born and nothing could be done to help me, my mother decided to read Science and Health. She and I were both quickly and completely healed solely though her reading and study of the book. I'd like to add that my mother had no religious upbringing and was not familiar with the Bible, but this didn't prevent her from finding healing through reading Science and Health.
