The voice of Mayal Tshiabuila, on the other end of the line, greets me warmly. The connection is interrupted every few seconds and some of his words are lost, but he repeats them when I ask him to, so I can understand his message. Mayal Tshiabuila lives in Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. I'm calling him from Boston, from The Christian Science Publishing Society's radio studios.
"You know, Luisella," he tells me, "I found out about Christian Science when I was finishing my college studies. What caught my attention was a copy of The Herald of Christian Science that a friend of my roommate's had brought over."
