The man who didn't pass by

From the January 2004 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Patti Kadick is a member of the Network of Biblical Storytellers and has been telling Bible stories professionally for around four years. She also conducts Bible story workshops from the perspective of the spiritual seeker. The following is an adaptation of a live telling of the parable of the good Samaritan.

I'M SURE AS ANYTHING that Jesus would have been a standout. Tall or short, how could you miss that face, all light and laughter? A warm laughter, clearly not at anyone, because you know he always said—as if looking deep into each one's eyes, "God loves you. You are the light of the world."

And crowds would've been everywhere he went. The rich, the poor, slaves who'd slipped away silently, Roman soldiers, Jewish priests and Levites from the temple, maybe a scibe or two.
