STARRING FLORENCE AND DUGAN SAVOYE AS THEMSELVES A JOURNAL STAFF PRODUCTION

From the November 2004 issue of The Christian Science Journal

A true story of infertility, prayer, persistence, and adoption—with the kind of surprise ending not even a hollywood screenwriter could dream up.

After more than five years of marriage, a California couple begins to think they might never have children of their own. Their solution: Pray.

Florence Savoye, a writer and producer of radio promotion for a TV network, has wanted to adopt a child ever since she was adopted at the age of three by her maternal grandmother. But she never thought it would be her only option. Now, however, she and her husband, Dugan—a former actor who heads an executive recruitment firm—are beginning to suspect it might be. They decide it's time to start praying about their apparent fertility problem. And they ask a Christian Science practitioner to pray with them.
