Give up worry

From the February 2004 issue of The Christian Science Journal

GIVING UP WORRY is one of the things I'd like to do more consistently. One of the worst things about worry is that it takes my mental time away from more productive thinking. It means I'm focusing on problems and not on solutions. It's the opposite of prayer, or listening to God.

For me, the greatest antidote to worry is a conviction that God is governing, that He is good. To me, God is a loving Father and Mother, and that love never changes. And so His help is always available.

I had the opportunity to learn more about how God governs when I was selling my home in a rural area and moving back to a large city. I was doing this alone, because my husband had passed on two years before. A long list of worries seemed to come with the project.
