You see, Burundi, my country of origin, has been war torn since 1993. There has been so much bloodshed, and many people have died in my sight, including members of my own family.
I fled with my wife and our three children to Nairobi, Kenya, five years ago. But our problems didn't end there, since we don't have proper refugee documents and can't afford to purchase them. In fact, I was jailed twice for lack of proper documentation. Without the papers to prove who we are, we've had to live without any regular support from the local government.
