The source of it all

From the June 2005 issue of The Christian Science Journal

THIS MIGHT sound like a radical concept, but here it is: You and God are one. Not just related, not just connected. But one.

How do I know this? Because God is infinite. That means everything He has created is a part of Him—inextricably linked to the one divine cause, the heavenly Creator. It could never be separated from Him for even an instant.

Mary Baker Eddy explained it this way: "Principle and its idea is one ...."  Science and Health, p. 465. That idea, that creation, encompasses every one of us—every one of the children of God. "As a drop of water is one with the ocean," Mrs. Eddy wrote, "a ray of light one with the sun, even so God and man, Father and son, are one in being."  Ibid., p. 361.
