KIDS' PLACE

THANK YOU, GOD!

From the May 2006 issue of The Christian Science Journal

MY NAME IS MEHAK, which means "fragrance" in Hindi, my national language. I live in the foothills of the Himalayas in Chandigarh, northern India, where the summers are very hot and the winters are very cold. I can't wait until summer vacation in May, when I visit the Himalayas. I leave all my studies behind and just go to enjoy. There's a lot of peace and beauty in the mountains.

I'm in the sixth grade. When I'm not at school, I like talking with my friends, drawing, dancing, and singing. I especially like drawing cartoons and portraits of people.

My mother works at an engineering college in Chandigarh. She teaches math so nicely that I just love math now—it's one of my favorite subjects, besides art. Whenever I do my exams, I say that I am reflecting the divine intelligence that God has given to me. I don't think about being the best or the first in my class—I just think about how God has made me capable of expressing His goodness.
