CONTRIBUTORS

From the February 2008 issue of The Christian Science Journal

1. Looking to the Bible, Steve Warren found inspiring insights on dealing with the resistance we all feel at one time or another to follow through on a right idea. In his Bible Forum article, "Mission Not Impossible," he shares the stories of Moses, Gideon, Jonah, and Jesus that helped spur him to let go of reluctance and get on with a God-directed assignment. Steve's a former navy pilot, and now a retired high school English teacher and tennis coach. Page 10.

2. Earline Shoemake puts it right on the line: "When I started learning about the ideas in Science and Health, the first thing I knew I needed was to get my human self out of the way." That's what she's been doing ever since as a practitioner and teacher of Christian Science. This month, Earline tells how the quality of humility plays a central role in spiritual healing. Page 43.

3. Counseling and healing have long been central to Jim Spencer's life. After serving in the Marine Crops, he became an Army chaplain. For many years, he has taught and practiced Christian Science healing. Jim has lectured on Christian Science throughout the world. An avid hiker, he's also taken on para-gliding in the Alps. Read his article "Hope." Page 43.
