YOU NEED NOT FEAR. It's understandable if you do. But actually, it is not necessary. The world financial situation may not be resolved in a day. But there is a law of God present and active this very day to protect and care for you and those you love. God's law operates everywhere and for everyone who relies on it. It can wisely direct those who are working to correct world problems. You need not tremble. Even if you have been laid off in your senior years. Even if your life savings have been radically reduced. Even if you are facing home foreclosure and possible homelessness. Even if you are puzzled over what next steps to take.
Your situation is not hopeless. You are never beyond the love of God to meet every one of your human needs, including the needs for basic necessities, dignity, and foresight. God knows you and adores you. As extreme as these circumstances can be, the law and love of God are greater than any problem. The law of God will no more fail you when you rely on it rightly than the sun will fail to rise tomorrow. God's love for you is so great and so constant it will do all these things, and more. It will even enable you to help others effectively.
When a pitiful, destitute widow was about to rub two sticks together to make a little fire to cook a final meal for her son and herself, they were all saved. A prophet who knew God's love to be His law, showed her how to apply it to be saved right there where she was. She only needed to put God first in all she thought and did (see I Kings 17:8-16).
