WITH A POSSIBLE DIVORCE in my future, I decided that whether I remained in the relationship or hoped to have another one in the future, I needed to change some character traits and actions that I wasn't proud of Also, after being a stay-at-home mom for 20 years, I wasn't sure how I could make it on my own, if I had to. I wanted very much to improve myself and feel worthy of being loved. Because of what I have learned in my study of Christian Science, I knew the way to improve was to turn to God for a better understanding of my identity and relationship to Him. So I started to consider who I really am and who I want to be.

In trying to understand my identity, I studied many things including the Christian Science weekly Bible Lessons. In a Lesson on "Man" I read: "Man is the offspring, not of the lowest, but of the highest qualities of Mind. Man understands spiritual existence in proportion as his treasures of Truth and Love are enlarged" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 265). I wondered, what are my treasures of Truth and Love?
