Sing with the Bible

From the July 2010 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The Bible sings with messages lifting our hearts to God.
Perhaps at first we hear them as mere human concepts,
personal notes, limited urgings to soar above earth.
No, we are not separate minds on a lonely trip to heaven.
These songs are angels from God, His love embracing us,
ever sung by Him, guiding all of us to our real home, to
Spirit's heaven, where we all in truth now dwell.

Going home is knowing who we really are, Spirit's people.
As images of hills and skies shining on quiet lake
are not our own doing, but nature's gifts of light and form,
so we are spiritual images created by the all-loving God,
reflections of the universal Father-Mother of all.
In our essential nature we express the Bible's messages,
for we are Love's expressions, perfect, joyous, free, whole.

As we learn to be good listeners to spiritual sense alone
we'll sing along with the Bible's healing songs.
Quieted, hearing God's Word, we come to know the grace
of true reflection: that God, the one all-knowing Mind,
the only Creator, omnipotent, authors all identity.
Truly pure, entire right now, we're Love's reflections—
wholly of God, perfect, complete, free, happy, lovely forever.
