A CONVERSATION WITH DAVID ROBERTSON

From the August 2010 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"I think I was a hard sell. I had very little interest in Christian Science. And in fact, my mother was a registered nurse and my father worked in pharmaceuticals. So I definitely had a medical outlook. When I met my wife, I thought what she told me about Christian Science was pretty weird. But I said, "What the heck, I'll marry her anyway–or she'll marry me anyway!"

What sold him? What made David Robertson, who grew up in a Methodist family, take up the study of Christian Science?

"I think it was primarily the way my wife, Alice, worked with our three children, how she handled the issues that came up," David said when I talked with him recently. "That started to turn my thought around and make me wonder, What's happening there?"
